Approaching an Apostle of the Lord

Image
Hello all! I hope you have all had a great and blessed week!  There has been plenty of wonderful and miracles here!   On Wednesday, after I wrote last weeks email, we had a meeting with the Área Presidency as well as Elder Carlos Godoy of the 70.  They all talked more and more about the temple open house and there was about 9 missions of missionaries watching through Zoom.  What an amazing unique experience! I'm so grateful for the many many unique experiences I've had because of the temple.  Many many meetings... With all of these meetings we are beginning to realize how much work we have to do here.  As a mission, we want to being 6,000 non members of the church to the temple.  And every companionship in our Zone gets about 6 buses throughout the month of April to fill about 46 spots with the people we teach and contact every day.  So do the math!  That's right, it's a lot of people to talk to and get the word out! ...

Temple Tasks

Oi!!  Hello!!  This email will talk about the last two weeks!  Wow have they been full of plenty of new things and I have been quite full of gratitude for this mission and experiences.   The last two weeks I've been on 2 transfers in our Zone!  The first was in Barreto, and I was able to help them open up the first English class in the ward! We had about 0 people confirmed two hours before and then we put up a banner and there was 5 people in the class.  And then we received so many texts from people interested, over 40!  So I hope they will continue to flourish and have very large classes.   The next exchange was in my old area with my old companion Elder Rodrigues.  We got to give a blessing which was really unique and do some amazing street contacts.  We also helped the ward with their temple invites and they were all doing double takes asking if I had been transferred back or not!  I loved being...

Not Really Carnaval Week

Oi boa tarde friends and family!!   And by the time I would have said this, eight people passed by in Copacabana....I'll explain a little bit later.   So this week is back to P-day on Wednesday so I have about nine days to catch up on.   This last week has been the five days of Carnaval which is typically super crazy and unsafe for missionaries but because of Covid it was mostly canceled.  It's still a holiday though so everyone was at the beach and it was really slow to contact on the street.   Last week on Wednesday we had Zone Conference!  It was the first Zone Conference that I led! It went so well and President de Oliveira gave an amazing training on the Atonement (or sacrifice) of Jesus Christ!  I loved how he pointed out the word atonement looks like  "At-one-ment"  because Jesus Christ sacrificed his life over the course of three days for EVERYTHING AND EVERY SIN THAT HAS BEEN, IS, OR WILL BE COMMITED. ...
