Just because we learn doesn't mean we can't have a little fun........ 5th Week!!!

Hey all!  As you can see from the picture at the top, I only have UM MAIS SEMANA of CTM! That means one more week.  One more!  Ah!  It's all coming up so fast, but honestly, I'm really really excited to jump into the mission field and just start serving and preaching to real people.  This is my motto for this last week, UM MAIS SEMANA. For those of you theatre fans, I should've done ONE WEEK MORE haha....ha. I'll leave for Florida on the 23rd of August!  And then wait and see when I can go to Brazil!

So tomorrow is my mission farewell!  I'll be giving my farewell talk at my sacrament meeting and then having an open house afterwards.  If there's anyone on this blog who wants information either to come in person, or watch my talk via a YouTube Live, then email me back and let me know what you want info on!  I'm excited to share my testimony before I enter the mission field and have a plethora of new experiences I can preach about at my homecoming talk.

In other news: Last Sunday I got a text from my companion saying that he was in my neighborhood!  YES!!!  I was so excited, so I got to officially meet Elder DRAPER!  In the flesh, here's a picture of us not on different sides of the state!  It was so cool, even if it was just for a few minutes.

Elder DRAPER!  MEU COMPAHEIRO!

Now these week has been a lot a lot of preparation for the actual mission field.  We've been learning so much about the first lesson, all about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Because of that we've been doing a lot a lot of planning to prepare for lessons and stuff.  One day me and Elder Draper got done pretty early, and we were all prepped (don't worry, we made sure we got our stuff done) and we decided to have some fun and try some new things to document.  We ended up escalating more and more until the following picture arose....
I call this: The Warriors of God ft. Nephi's Sword

We LOVE The Book of Mormon.
On a more spiritual note, this week has also been focused a lot on the Book of Mormon, and it's blessings.  I've been doing a lot of study in them, learning all the doctrine of the Gospel as stated throughout the Book of Mormon.  I've loved being able to flick through the pages and see all the prophets testimonies shine forth about different topics.  How some speak on faith, others on repentance and so forth.  We have been doing Book of Mormon sharing time in one of our classes, where we give verses or examples of great prophets or stories that help us feel the spirit.   I shared about Nephi, and his faith.  The faith of Nephi astounds me.  I was reading in Chapter 7, where Nephi is bound by his brothers, and he prays that his physical strength can break the cords, and the Lord helps him.  I was just struck by his first reaction was he knew he didn't have the strength, but he prayed because he knew he could have the strength with the Lord.  Sometimes I feel like that on my mission, like I can't do it, that the schedule or the time constraints are too much.  So when those times come, I pray, and I always find the energy to get through that day.

Last thing before I sign off here, last night at DHE, we had a great time making memes for each other.  It was a meme competition and we were trying to see who could do the best ones.  I would like to present the following as my favorites.  Now granted, a lot of these have inside jokes you may not get, but I think they are so funny.
