2022 from Rio de Janerio!

Oi Gente!  Feliz Ano Novo!
It is officially 2022 and that's so crazy to think about!  I actually when writing in my journal this week kept on writing 2021 for the date, so it will take some getting used to.  But I'm so grateful for the new year and the fresh new possibilities that will be had!

So this week has been filled with miracles and plenty of lessons.  Me and Elder MacDonald have been working hard as we are finding and talking to people all over!  Calls, the streets, the bus, social media, referrals, all of it! And I've been so grateful because it means that we have just been able to share share share! And that's what we are here for right?

As we as a district have been working we have been working hard on goal setting and how we can fulfill them.  As we made our goals for the week, by yesterday we saw that we wanted to find 9 more people in our district and we had about 2 more hours.  We all prayed for a miracle, and with that, we got to work.  Over the next two hours, all 9 people were found between our district and we all have times to call them back and share more messages!  It was a true miracle and blessing!

As we have been consistently working, I have found that there is joy from sharing the gospel.  The hardest days seem to be the days where we don't do anything but when we have a good lesson, or a good contact, it really makes all the difference.  One thing I love about Brazil is the amount of times we get to be in peoples homes and share the gospel.  One family we shared our first lesson with them, and it was perfect.  It went exactly the way it needed to.  The Spirit was present and they all accepted to meet with us again and hear more!  A true blessing.  I love getting to be in their homes, because it means I get to look them in the eyes and share my testimony very personally.  That helps strengthen mine, as i hope it strengthens theirs.

The New Year here was so cool! Our area has had fireworks going off every single night since I got here but the moment 12 AM on Jan 1st hit, there was so many! We got an awesome view of our window, and the fireworks on the other side of the bay in Rio were so big we could see them from our apartment.

With the new year as well, I've been thinking a lot about goals and plans for this upcoming year.  All of it 2022 will be on my mission, and so some of my goals are very focused focused that.  The prophet, President Nelson made a post about 3 ways to make our goals.  If you haven't seen the post I would invite you to do so :)

But another thing I find very important is praying to Heavenly Father after the goal is made.  Praying for help to complete the goal that could be difficult.  As we do so, we can access the power of Jesus Christ and be able to change into the best versions of ourselves that we can be. Just like we did with finding 9 new people.  We had the goal, we prayed that we could complete it, and God helped us as we put in our effort.

I'd invite you all to say a prayer as you begin work on your New Years Resolutions, and continue to pray throughout, and I know you will find the strength and help you need to complete.
I wish you all an amazing 2022!!
