Back to the Trio
Olá família e amigos!!!
So this will be a fairly brief one. This week has been pretty chill as we have picked up another missionary for the house! Me and Elder MacDonald are both staying, but we have a third Brazilian companion named Elder Rodrigues! It'll be great to have a third person to add into the amazing work in this area.
This week has been very rainy, so we haven't had a whole ton of opportunities to leave the house because no one is on the streets and we don't want to be soaking wet with no one to talk to. So we've done a lot of calling, a lot of prayers and scripture reads. I have found the power of just saying a prayer. And how much everyone wants one. Every time we ask they are always so eager like "Yes, yes please!" It makes me always make sure the prayer is earnest, and they can receive the blessings that we ask for as they go forward in faith.
Despite our best efforts, we did get caught in the rain on the way back from a member lunch. As we passed by this mural, I thought we needed a picture. This is a mural that is painted on a wall right next to our apartment building. It was done by the missionaries who lives here back in 2019, and I've passed by it every day and never gotten a picture! Well, now i did! I think it's so cool how normal and natural missionaries shared their testimonies of Joseph Smith by drawing on a wall!
Because of the rain, and people being out of town and adjustments to a third missionary in the house has definitely had it's challenges. But you want to know what's helped me through it all? My personal study. We don't have desks or chairs in our house so I study on my bed, but every single day, I am able to dedicate an hour, or more to study the words of God. Bible, Book of Mormon, Preach my Gospel, General Conference talks you name it. Anything that has the word of God brings peace. And as I've made a big focus on my personal study, it's changed me. It changes me as a person, but also as a missionary and how I teach with new information and scriptures. I've felt myself closer than ever with my Heavenly Father when I take the time to do my scripture study. So I invite you all to do the same! Take some time and study some scriptures! Whatever that is to you. And pray before. In that prayer, if you ask for blessings. He will provide.
Excitedly waiting for another week here in Brazil!!! Hoping you are all doing well wherever you are in the world right now :)
